photo of the main facade at Triesterstrasse.

In the main façade facing Triesterstrasse, the natural lighting of the stairwells, combined with the windows of the ground floor zone and the subordinate windows to the bathrooms and vestibules of the apartments, is graphically resolved; a narrow shading element is installed above the sidewalk and the main entrance is emphasized by a niche.

looking up in one of the courtyards, seeing the rounded shapes of the green screens and balconies.

A “green interiority” is developed in the courtyards, which creates an independent ambience for the apartments, isolated from the unattractive surroundings. Green “screens” provide shade in summer but allow the sunshine to come through in winter. The planting of the courtyards and the espalier-like structure for climbing plants give the courtyards their character and create individuality, which is further enhanced by the shape of the loggias and balconies.
